About Fingal Additional Needs
At Fingal Additional Needs, we provide fun, engaging, and inclusive activities for children and young people with additional needs.
Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where every child can thrive, build confindence, and enjoy social connections through structured play, sports, and sensory experiences.
Who We Are
I'm David, the founder of Fingal Additional Needs.
With over 15 years of experience in the health and disability sector, I've worked with individuals across all ages including those with autism, ADHD, acquired brain injuries, and additional needs.
Inspired by my own journey as a parent of a child with autism and ADHD, I started this initiative to provide much-needed support and accessible activities for families like mine.
What We Do
We offer a range of afterschool programmes, sensory play sessions, and activity-based camps designed for children and teens with additional needs. We provide a structured but flexible approach to fun, focusing on:
- Afterschool Fun and Sports - helping children develop motor skills, social interactions, and confidence in a supportive setting.
- Sensory Play and Camps - Interactive play opportunities that cater to different sensory needs, including themed holiday camps.
- Community Outreach - Partnering with local schools, libraries, and organisations to create accessible programmes for children with additional needs.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to play, learn, and grow in a space where they feel understood and valued.
If you're looking for inclusive activities in Fingal, we'd love to welcome you!

Our Dream For A Better Tomorrow
We dream of creating a space where individuals with additional needs and their families are truly valued and supported.
A place designed for joy, comfort, and growth-a space that feels like home.
Imagine This:
- A local haven where parents can drop off their loved ones, knowing they'll be safe, happy, and free to just be themselves.
- Spaces for play gyms, sensory rooms, and messy play areas - where stimming, playing, or simply finding peace is celebrated, not judged.
- A resource for schools, where children can visit on tough days or entire classes can come to have fun and connect.
- An afterschool programme in a permanent location - no more dragging supplies from one venue to another. A place families can proudly call theirs.
Affordability Matters
Why shouldn't individuals with disabilities have the same opportunities as others?
Clubs with small yearly fees and affordable activities exist for everyone else-why not for children with additional needs?
Why must families pay through the nose for something that should be a right?
A space with a purpose:
- Providing accessible assessments in a calm, familiar environment.
- Welcoming O.T.s, play therapists, and other professionals to use a multi-functional building.
- Building partnerships with HSE or government funding to ensure families aren't left struggling.
This dream is for parents, carers, teachers, SNAs, and most importantly, the individuals we support.
We are crying out for this.
It doesn't have to be a big place; it just has to be a familiar place-a place they can call their own.
